Young Money announces new compilation album

By Chelsea Lewis ,
The new compilation will be called 'Rise of an Empire'

Four years ago, Young Money released their own compilation album. Now, the entertainment group is back to release another compilation album, Rise of an Empire. The album is expected to be released on March 11, 2014.

Rise of an Empire will feature a variety of Young Money artists, including Lil Wayne, Drake, Nicki Minaj, Gudda Gudda, Tyga, Shanell and Christina Milian, Billboard reported.

The first single off of the album is "We Alright." It features the musical styles of Wayne, Birdman and Euro, who is a new rapper just signed to Young Money Records, Vibe reported.

Drake gave his fans a sneak peek of what his track would sound like when he performed a few lines of "Trophies" while hosting Saturday Night Live.

Cortez Bryant, Young Money's COO, talked about the importance of bringing all of the artists together on one album, after the success of their first compilation album.

"'We Are Young Money' helped launch the careers of our first generation of acts with Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Tyga. Even though we've been honored with accolades as a company, our hunger hasn't diminished or dwindled. We're hungrier than ever, and we're still building," said Bryant.

We Are Young Money sold over 142,000 copies in its first week of release and peaked in the top 10 of Billboard's album charts.
