Watch out, Mila Kunis! Seth MacFarlane has confirmed that he will be directing a Ted 2 and Amanda Seyfried will be the lead female role.
In August, MacFarlane announced the release of Ted 2 on Twitter by answering a fan about the release date. “We’re aiming for a 2015 Passover release date,” he said.
The original Ted was released in 2012.
Deadline reported that Mark Wahlberg will be back as the lead male role with his inappropriate teddy bear best friend. The first movie featured Mila Kunis in the female lead role, but apparently she will only appear for a small part of this one, if at all. The decision is due to a creative decision by creator MacFarlane.
MacFarlane, who is the creator and writer of the hit series, Family Guy, still remains close with Kunis, who voices Meg on the show. Seyfried and MacFarlane have also worked together as a featured role in his upcoming movie, A Million Ways to Die in the West.
According to Us Weekly, the original Ted did extremely well at the box office for an R-rated comedy grossing almost $550 million.
MacFarlane is set to produce and write the sequel. He will also be returning as the voice of the foul-mouthed teddy bear, Ted, who audiences can’t help but love.
Ted 2 is set to hit theaters June 2015. Wahlberg and Seyfried are definitely on board, but Seyfried’s character and storyline remain unknown.
