On Feb. 28, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues will be re-released as a super-sized version with an R rating, and it will be in theaters for only one week.
According to Entertainment Weekly, writer/director Adam McKay said the cast had multiple jokes and takes when it came to each scene.
“Every joke we did in the theatrical, we would shoot three or four alts to it and in almost all of the cases, there was another really good choice," McKay told EW.
The best of those alternative scenes have been resurrected for the new version of the film. It will be featured on the Blu-ray for Anchorman 2, which will be released on April 1, in case you can't make it to theaters.
The re-release of the film will be over two hours. "It’s crazy long — about 2:20 — so for the real fans, this will be a treat,” McKay said.
Anchorman 2 already has made $125 million in domestic ticket sales and the box office numbers will likely rise following this release, The New York Times added.
