An alternate version of the film is being released

Anchorman hasn't seen the end of its road.

An extended version of Anchorman 2 will return to theaters for one week only starting February 28.

The longer version of the film, which is called Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues: Super-Sized R-Rated Version, will be about 20 minutes longer and will feature around 753 new jokes, according to New York Daily News.

In Will Ferrell's Thursday night appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, he announced the upcoming release of the film:

"For one week only...we have a brand new version with 753 [new] jokes," he said during his appearance. "[Director Adam McKay] did alternate takes, and originally the movie was four hours long. They played around with the idea of splitting it up into two movies, but that didn't really work. So we just had a second editor working the whole time with alternative jokes."

According to E! Online, the re-release will return to 1,000 theaters.

The original Anchorman came out in 2004, and it had such a cult following that a sequel was finally made almost 10 years later.
