Arcade Fire nominated for three mtvU Woodie Awards

Rock 'n' roll group, Arcade Fire, has been nominated for three mtvU Woodie Awards this season and the band leads the nominations for the year.

The band will be going for Woodie of the Year, which is the artist of the year award for the Woodie's. Also nominated in the Woodie of the Year category includes, Imagine Dragons, Lorde, Pharrell Williams, Dreak, Zedd and Disclosure, Billboard reported.

Other artists that did well with two nominations include, Imagine Dragons, Oscar-nominated Pharrell Williams, Disclouse and Chance, the rapper.

The best new artists award, which is also known as the Breaking Woodie is a packed category which includes, Bastille Martin Garrix, The 1975, Jhene Aiko, Sam Smith and Mack Wilds.

The awards started back in 2004 and have recognized artists such as The Killers, Death Cab for Cutie, Muse, Gym Class Heroes and Lupe Fiasco, CBS added.

Fans can currently vote for who they think should take home the Woodie awards online at MTV.com.
