Sam Worthington was put behind bars after assaulting a photographer in New York on Sunday.
According to E! Online, Worthington allegedly punched a photographer at the Cubbyhole bar in Greenwich Village. Worthington reacted after the paparazzo kicked his girlfriend, Lara Bingle, in the shin.
Worthington was arrested on charges of assault, and the photographer was charged with reckless endangerment, assault and harassment.
According to the Daily Mail, NYPD Lieutenant John Grimple confirmed the arrest Sunday evening.
"It happened at 5:30 p.m. this evening. The photographer kicked Lara, then Worthington punched him causing the photographer to have lacerations to his nose. He has been charged with assault. He punched the photographer," he said in a statement.
This is not Worthington's first run-in with the law when it comes to paparazzi. In 2012 he was arrested and pepper sprayed in Atlanta after a run-in with a photographer outside a restaurant.
Worthington was released on bail, and is set to appear before a court at a later time. His court date has not yet been released.
