The Hollywood Reporter reports that NBC announced on Thursday that they have arranged to have Parsons for his first stint as host of SNL.

The musical guest that will be joining Parsons will be Beck, whose new album Morning Phase, comes out on Feb. 25. This will be the musician's seventh appearance on Saturday Night Live as a musical guest.

Broadway World notes that Saturday Night Live is currently in it's 39th season on NBC. SNL has won numerous awards over the years, including 40 Emmys, and has been honored twice in 1990 and 2009 with the distinguished George Foster Peabody Award.

SNL premiered back on Oct. 11, 1975 and shoots live out of the famous NBC Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center in New York. The show's executive producer is Lorne Michaels, who also created the show.
