In a surprising move, Brooke Burke-Charvet is out as co-host of Dancing with the Stars after seven seasons.
E! Online reports that Burke-Charvet, who was the co-host of Dancing with the Stars alongside Tom Bergeron, wasn't alerted that her job was at risk and that ABC notified her on Friday, Feb. 21, that she wouldn't be coming back as co-host.
Burke-Charvet appears to be fine and understands that the show is going through a transition. Burke-Charvet says, "I have enjoyed seven seasons co-hosting DWTS but understand the need for change considering the position of the show at this juncture."
Before becoming co-host, Burke-Charvet was a past contestant on Dancing with the Stars, winning with partner Derek Hough during season 7. During season 10 of Dancing with the Stars, Burke-Charvet took over as co-host from Samantha Harris.
People reveals that Burke-Charvet isn't the only familiar face leaving Dancing with the Stars. Bandleader Harold Wheeler and his band of 28 people were recently let go as well.
Season 18 of Dancing with the Stars returns on March 17.
