The 21 Jump Street star is working on the script with his producing partner Reid Carolin and rumors have started to circulate that Tatum is looking to direct the upcoming project, The Huffington Post reported.
Magic Mike was released back in 2012 and made $114 million for Warner Bros. The budget for Mike was only $7 million and was directed by Steven Soderbergh, who helped to finance the film along with Tatum, The Hollywood Reporter added.
Magic Mike was based off of how Tatum came up in the industry, starting out working as a male stripper. Mike was full of star power with Matthew McConaughey, Alex Pettyfer, Olivia Munn and Tatum himself staring in the film.
Tatum can currently be heard in the The Lego Movie. He lent his voice talents to the family friendly film, which made a huge debut at the box office this weekend.
