The manager of a golf club owned by Clint Eastwood has been arrested for allegedly embezzling company funds.
According to the San Francisco Gate, Neal Bentley Morton of Salinas, was arrested on suspicion of embezzling more than $30,000 from the golf club founded by the Dirty Harry actor.
The Associated Press noted that Morton is a manager at the luxury Tehama Golf Club located between Carmel Valley and the Monterey Peninsula in California.
The Monterey County Sheriff's Office said that Morton was booked on Saturday afternoon on suspicion of forgery and the theft of the money.
The 48-year-old was taken to the Monterey County Jail.
The private, 18-hole golf course was designed by golf architect Jay Morrish and opened in 1999. It features 6,506 yards that overlook the Pacific. Membership costs are $500,000 and by invitation only.
No one at the gold club has commented on Morton’s arrest and Eastwood himself has not made any public statements regarding his employee’s arrest.
