Eric Church's latest album, The Outsider, has taken over the top of the charts without much competition.
The Outsiders sold 288,000 in its first week since being released. This is the only new album to arrive on the charts this week.
Church has the largest sales week of the year and it is the biggest week of sales since Beyonce released her album without any warning, Billboard reported.
This is the fourth studio album from Church and his second number one album since his 2011 debut Chief. The Outsiders claimed the biggest week for a country album since Luke Bryan crashed the charts with his latest album, Crash My Party.
Church has been on a constant world wind promoting the album all across the United States, playing shows and attending events. Rolling Stone went along with Church during a series of special club dates and got to see the ins and outs of what it takes for Church to put on a performance night after night.
