After 20 years of being one of the most popular ad slogans of all time, the iconic ‘Got Milk?’ campaign is being retired. In its place the The Milk Processor Education Program wants to begin a new campaign called ‘Milk Life.’
Advertising Age stated that the new slogan will put more emphasis on the nutritional benefits more so than it has been in the past with the old campaign.
It was also reported that the new campaign will be created to increase growth among the milk category and since the ‘Got Milk’ campaign has been around since 1993 the processors are creating a refreshing new tagline to help with declining milk sales.
The Huffington Post reported that Sal Taibi, who is the president of the advertising company who is kickstarting the new ‘Milk Life’ campaign has said, "In the past, we have been saying that everyone needs to drink milk. Now, we are showing what milk does for you."
However, though the Got Milk tag line is being dropped overall, California will keep using it even as the national group moves on to something new.
