Apple is bringing the iTunes Festival to Austin, Texas during the South by Southwest music and media conference.
"One of the cool things about trying to do the festival is that it's all about the music, the musicians and the fans," Apple executive Eddy Cue told The Associated Press about the event. "You want it in a really close atmosphere where the fans are getting to see these musicians in places they'll never see them again, because they play in much bigger venues."
Apple's iTunes brings books, music, and podcasts to people via the internet. This year, Apple will be sponsoring a festival that brings music, film and interactive projects to audiences. The festival has been popular in London for the past seven years. The first U.S. festival in Austin will feature five nights of music to be held at the ACL Live at the Moody Theater.
The festival will take place from March 11 to 15. Apple has invited Coldplay, Keith Urban, Imagine Dragons and London Grammar to perform this year. Even if you are not going to make it Austin for the festival, you can stream all of the music through the iTunes Store, according to Entertainment Weekly.
