Freddie Highmore, known for his work on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and August Rush, will be heading back to the big screen in the upcoming film, My Name Is Emily.
My Name is Emily will be directed by Simon Fitzmaurice. This will be the first directorial debut for Fitzmaurice on a feature film, Variety reported.
Fitzmaurice made a strong impression back in 2008 at Sundance with his critically acclaimed short films Full Circle and The Sound of People.
James Nesbitt will co-star with Highmore in the film. Nesbitt was most recently seen in the Hobbit films.
My Name is Emily has been described as a love story that has elements of a road trip movie.
Highmore explained his excitement about this project, “It’s fantastic to be on board for Simon’s latest project. It has that fresh and spontaneous angle of all great Irish scripts: characters go out and happen to things before things happen to them," said Highmore.
Highmore can currently be seen on TV in Bates Motel, which airs on A&E Network. The second season of the show will be returning on March 3, UPI added.
No release date has yet been announced for My Name is Emily.
