George Duke will be honored during the opening day of the annual Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl in California. The festival will be taking place on June 14-15.
Honoring the jazz great will be singer Al Jarreau and bassist Stanley Clarke, who will be playing the 36th annual festival to celebrate the career and musical journey that Duke has been on, Billboard reported.
The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association will be presenting the festival for the first time and recently announced the lineup. Opening the festival will be the celebration of George Duke, and closing the event will be George Benson and fellow jazz guitarist Earl Klugh.
Comedian George Lopez will be hosting the event and is thrilled to be taking on this role. "This year's lineup of talent is unparalleled, and it's going to be a great weekend of music," said Lopez.
Duke died at the age of 67, of leukemia last August, Philly.com reported.
