Hulu to offer CBS's 'Elementary' to paid subscribers

Internet streaming service Hulu will be showing CBS's Sherlock Holmes inspired drama Elementary to Hulu Plus subscribers. These subscribers will be able to watch full past seasons of the show.

The show is in its second season and fans can see the season by paying $7.99 a month, which is the cost of being a Hulu Plus subscriber Variety reported.

Hulu is owned by Disney, NBCUniversal and 21st Century Fox. They reached this agreement with rival CBS after seeing success with other shows that followed a similar model.

Hulu CEO Mike Hopkins detailed the plan to show Elementary.

“After the breakthrough success of The Good Wife on Hulu Plus, we’re excited to offer subscribers more past seasons of outstanding current CBS programming, as the exclusive subscription video-on-demand home for Elementary,” said Hopkins.

CBS said in a press release that the latest episode of season two was the highest since the season premiered with 10 million viewers. It also earned the best rating in the 25-54 adult demo.
