John Mayer defends Shia LaBeouf's behavior on Twitter

By Gina DiFalco,

Shia LaBeouf has at least one celebrity supporter: John Mayer. The Continuum singer took to Twitter to try and shed some light as to why he thinks the Nymphomaniac star is acting the way he is.

He started off by writing that it’s not easy being young, successful and famous.

“Re: Shia. Being young and very talented/successful is like dropping in to the top of Mount Everest via helicopter,” he wrote.

He continued, "There are moments in life where you need to feel quantum shift, movement. And if where you already are is considered the top…The dumb people disintegrate, and the smart people investigate. That investigation is never comfortable. Or all that pretty."

Meanwhile, Bill Murray had other thoughts on LaBeouf’s bizarre behavior. He suggested that the 27-year-old actor has a “cross to bear” because he has a “funny name.”

"It's like A Boy Named Sue…he probably got beat up a lot,” he added.

LaBeouf recently showed up on a red carpet at the Berlin Film Festival wearing a paper bag over his head that read “I am no famous anymore.” He also set up an art exhibit called “#IMSORRY” and he wore the same paper bag. His strange behavior first started when it was revealed he had plagiarized his short film.
