John Travolta reveals his dream role

John Travolta is a household name, with leading roles in hits such as Grease , Pulp Fiction, and Saturday Night Fever. Now, Travolta tells the world that what he really wants to do, be a James Bond villain.

Travolta currently has a string of tough-guy leading man roles line up. One of which has him as Mafia boss John Gotti Snr, playing opposite Anthony Hopkins, in upcoming movie Gotti: In the Shadow of my Father. The 2015 crime drama film will also include Ella Bleu Travolta, John Travolta’s daughter.

However, Travolta revealed today that he has spoken to Barbara Broccoli (producer of the 007 movies) about playing the villain, and Broccoli “loved the idea”, reports Film-News.

According to The Telegraph Travolta won’t be able to close the chapter on playing villains until he gets a role has a James Bond baddie. The villain of the next Bond movie is suppose to be going in a totally new direction from villains of the past, and getting the role is a deep desire for Travolta.

Travolta will be turning 60 this month, and the world is curious as to his plans with this landmark birthday. At first, Travolta had serious doubts, fearing he would never act again after the death of his son, Jett. His 16-year-old autistic son had died in 2009 after suffering a seizure and hitting his head in the bath of the family’s vacation home in the Bahamas. Travolta also lost long-term girlfriend Diana Hyland, whom he’d met filming The Boy in the Plastic Bubble, to a long term battle with breast cancer. On getting older and of his own mortality, Travolta says, “I’m probably less terrified of death than your average fellow now, because people so near to me have suffered before their time and I just feel that if they can do it, so can I. The edge – the panic that most people feel – has been taken off death for me. I almost feel like it’s disrespectful to fear it when others have been able to do it.”
