Scott Bakula has been tapped to lead the new spinoff of CBS' popular procedural NCIS.
Deadline reports that Bakula will play the lead character of NCIS Special Agent Pride, and the show will focus on him, similar to how NCIS does on its central character.
Gary Glasberg and NCIS star Mark Harmon are on board to executive produce the New Orleans-based spinoff. Bakula's character will work on any cases that involve the Louisiana to Texas panhandle area.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the two-part pilot will air in the spring. Bakula's character of Pride, is a Special Agent who does his best to always do what is right.
The former Quantum Leap star has begun to take more roles recently on television and recently appeared in HBO's Behind the Candelabra and has a recurring role in new comedy Looking.
The Golden Globe winning actor also has finished work on a musical, which also stars Short Term 12 actress Brie Larson. Bakula also appears in the upcoming Elsa And Fred, alongside stars Christopher Plummer and Shirley MacLaine.
