When Howard Stern celebrated his 60th birthday party on Jan. 31, nobody thought that his “rival” Lena Dunham would attend.
According to The New York Post, Dunham took the stage while at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York to toast the radio personality with a sly remark.
Dunham joked about one time when Stern asked her if she was intimidated by other girls who were better looking than her. “I didn’t have the wherewithal to ask Howard if he was intimidated because Beth [Ostrosky Stern] could definitely be with someone… who doesn’t look like a cartoon of a Jewish female horse,” she said.
The 27-year-old comedian’s roast was considered the number one moment when Rolling Stone counted down the highlights of the event by saying that she “slayed the room.”
Last year, Dunham and Stern had a small issue when Perez Hilton blogged that Stern was calling Dunham fat.
Us Weekly reported that the two put their issues behind them in January when Dunham called Stern’s Sirius XM radio show and apologized for the comment.
“The reason I felt so awful was because when Perez Hilton wrote his article, he told half the story,” Stern said.
He continued, “I guess I just wanted to tell you I love you and I think you’re terrific.”
