Los Angeles Clippers sign Glenn Davis

The Los Angeles Clippers signed forward Glenn Davis on Monday. He will wear the number 12 and will be available for Monday night’s game against the New Orleans Pelicans. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Davis got waived and a buyout from the Orlando Magic on Friday. He will be reunited with Clippers coach Doc Rivers. He played for Rivers while with the Boston Celtics from 2007 to 2011, winning the championship in 2008. He was making $6 million this season and was suppose to make $6.6 million next season. In 45 games this season Davis is averaging 12.1 points and 6.3 rebounds, according to ESPN.
"It's not official yet but hopefully it will be," Rivers said about Davis. "It gives us another big and what I like about a guy like that is he can play a five with a four. If we got a guy like that, he also knows my system."
With the signing of Davis, the Clippers currently have a roster of 12 players. They decided not to extend Sasha Vujacic’s 10-day contract. They also traded Antawn Jamison and Byron Mullens.
Davis was drafted by Seattle in the second round of the 2007 NBA Draft. Shortly after he got drafted he was traded to the Celtics. He has played in 417 games for the Celtics and Magic in his seven-year career. He has an average of 8.9 points 4.8 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in his career, according to the Clippers website. It will be interesting to see how Davis and Rivers do together after they were together in Boston.
