Miley Cyrus has shocked us all over the past several months with her actions, performances and image. It seems the 21-year-old pop star just does whatever she wants, and that’s because she honestly doesn’t care what anybody thinks of her. W Magazine’s March issue, which is their social media issue, is all about the young rebel.
Miley was recently featured on the cover of W magazine, naked and covered by only a blanket, in some of her sexiest pictures ever. Her long bright blonde hair and bleached eyebrows make her almost unrecognizable. But what was more interesting than the photoshoot itself, which features a shot of Miley with part of her nipple out, was the interview.
We all have learned over the past year that Miley is a rebel and in this interview, she proves she really doesn’t care what anybody thinks of her. Ronan Farrow interviewed Miley and found out what she’s really all about.
Farrow interviewed the carefree star in the living room of her Los Angeles mansion, while she smoked a cigarette. Farrow asked a lot of questions and got her to confess to most of her honest opinions. Turns out Miley doesn’t love children, enjoys being naked and really just doesn’t give a s**t.
Since the article was all about social media, Miley shared her thoughts on this as well and how everyone, celebrity or not are under a microscope. She told Farrow, “I think with, like, Instagram, Twitter, whatever, everyone is a paparazzi now. How scary is that? Like, you’re never safe. Even ordinary people just think they can, like, talk about you like they know you. Especially because I grew up in it, and like you grew up in it, too, there’s a sense of entitlement.”
Public interest in Miley and her personal image is something people seem to constantly be talking about. With her most recent album, Bangerz, Miley decided to reinvent her music. She hired a new music manager and assembled a powerhouse team of producers. These changes paid off, considering Bangerz topped the Billboard 200. “They did a write-up in Rolling Stone-like, the best albums of 2013,” Miley said. “And my album was one of them! I printed it out. I give myself things to look at like that.”
When it comes to the way she dresses, Miley explained how she enjoys choosing a more provocative image, which is very different than the way most girls her age are dressing. “I just don’t get what half the girls are wearing,” Miley admitted. “You don’t have to wear makeup. You don’t have to have long blonde hair and big titties. That’s not what it’s about.”
Miley also added that she believes she may always be naked because she grew up always playing outside and never wearing shoes. “I think it’s why I like wearing no clothes so much and I’m always naked.”
People still continue to criticize Miley for the way she’s been acting and performing recently, but she isn’t bothered by what people are saying. “I don’t give a s**t. I’m not Disney,” she said. “Anyone that hates you is always below you, because they’re just jealous of what you have.”
Miley went on to talk about her relationship status and how she has a hard time trusting people since recent break-up with fiancé Liam Hemsworth. “Guys watch too much porn,” Miley said. “Those girls don’t exist. They’re not real girls.”
Miley’s image these past few months have been criticized and it has been loved. The singer is going to say whatever is on her mind. She believes she is a powerful person, and she has proved to us that she is. She’s honest and that’s what her fans love about her.
The singer admits a lot in this interview, even about her love for marijuana. “I love weed,” she said. “I just love getting stoned. I just want it to be back where it’s, like, organic, good weed.”
The rest of the interview can be read in W Magazine’s social media issue for March 2014.
