Nik Richie reveals he held his baby boy after wife Shayne Lamas' miscarriage, named him Rex Jagger Lamas-Richie

Nik Richie has opened up about his wife Shayne Lamas’ heartbreaking miscarriage 20 weeks into being pregnant. He revealed he named their baby, which would have been a boy, after they lost him.

Richie said he was able to hold his baby boy following his wife’s miscarriage and when a nurse informed him he needed to name him for his birth certificate, he gave him the name Rex Jagger Lamas-Richie.

After the experience, he shared an emotional letter her wrote to his son with TMZ.

"God has a plan for us all. He gave me an amazing son who will always watch over our family. You saved your mother's life with your passing and I will never forget how much this means to me, R.J,” he wrote. “In family, we sacrifice for each other. You gave your life for us. You showed me how to love."

Lamas remains in the ICU and experienced a setback on Valentine’s Day, Us Weekly reports Richie has revealed in a blog post. However, she’s doing better every day.

"I need you to know that I held you, spoke to you, kissed you and that you'll be remembered," Richie continued in his letter to his son. "You are perfect. You will always be my son. I'm proud of you, always. I love you, Rex Jagger Lamas-Richie."

Lamas collapsed in the couple’s Orange County, Calif. home on Feb. 9 and lost their baby while she underwent emergency surgery. They also have a 2-year-old daughter Press Dahl Lamas-Richie.

Richie and Lamas have been married since 2010.
