Injured Olympic skier Lindsey Vonn walked the runway at the 2014 Red Dress Collection fashion show, with the help of crutches.
Though she was forced to withdraw from the Sochi Olympics due to a bad knee injury, Lindsey Vonn shows no signs of resting as she strutted the catwalk with the help of her crutches last night.
SF Gate reports that Vonn joined 20 other celebrities as they modeled red dresses for the 2014 Red Dress Collection, which raises awareness for heart disease in women and kicks off the start to New York Fashion Week. With the help of her crutches, Vonn walked the runway to the sound of Kelly Clarkson's hit "Stronger (What Doesn't Kill You)" while wearing a short dress by designer Cynthia Rowley.
The Today Show spoke to the champion skier before she hit the runway to get her take on the fashion show. She said, "I’m excited and nervous — this is not my spiel. It’ll be interesting to see how fast I get down there. I’m a skier; I don’t normally walk the catwalk ... especially in crutches.”
She also revealing that Rowley took the scar on her injured knee into account when designing the dress.
Vonn took home the 2010 gold for skiing, but announced her withdrawl from the Sochi games in January due to her injured knee.
