Academy-award winning actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman has been found dead in Manhattan. A law-enforcement official discovered Hoffman at his New York apartment. Hoffman was only 46 years old.
The Wall Street Journal reported that New York police are still investigating the cause of the death. His apartment was located in the West Village neighborhood of Manhattan.
The New York Post added that the investigation is ongoing and currently no cause of death can be reported.
Hoffman had been very open about his addiction to substances after his time spent at NYU's drama school, but he had entered rehab and was currently working on his sobriety.
In 2005, Hoffman won the Oscar for his role in Capote. Along with his Oscar win he was nominated for three supporting roles including, The Master, Doubt, and Charlie Wilson's War.
Hoffman was most recently seen in the sequel to the Hunger Games, Catching Fire.
