With stars like Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus constantly in the public eye, Pixie Lott discussed how she wants to be a “realistic role model.”
The 23-year-old singer released her video for her single “Nasty” last month, which people have been calling it her raunchiest video to date. She’s seen dancing in a club in a simple bra and miniskirt. Additionally, there are some scenes where Pixie is only covered up by a careful placement of a pink purse.
However, according to Mirror, Lott wants to make it known that it is because the song is entitled, “Nasty” that she felt that the video should have an edgier look.
“I’m just playing a character,” Lott said. “I’m not really nasty!”
However, Lott won’t be avoiding the clubs to try to keep a sparkly image. She did spend a night at the Groucho Club, The Daily Mail reported in November.
“I want to be a good role model but the most important thing for me is to be a realistic role model,” Lott explained. Now at age 23, Lott mentioned Bieber, who has been in the media spotlight for quite some time due to recent antics.
“I feel sorry for Justin Bieber,” she said. “If you think about it he’s just 19 and people make mistakes at that age. I can imagine loads of boys across the country doing the same thing.”
Lott also expressed sympathy for Cyrus, who has made a huge transformation from the Hannah Montana singer to the controversial twerking star today.
“She wants to be like that and it works for her,” Lott spoke about Cyrus. “If it’s what she wants to do then good luck to her. Everyone has the freedom to do what they want to do. I certainly don’t feel any pressure.”
