Rosie Perez, 49, tells all in her new memoir, Handbook for the Unpredictable Life.
The book is dramatic, and talks about Perez’s early life in Brooklyn and her breakout success in the movie, Do the Right Thing. According to the Daily News, the memoir details a background of violence and an unexpected rise to success.
The memoir also mentions the famous people with whom Perez has crossed paths, including singer Jennifer Lopez during her time on In Living Color. According to the memoir, Perez and Lopez had awful days of screaming matches and jealousy. Perez says in her book that, over the years, she was not quick to forgive and forget.
Us Weekly reports Perez said, “Jennifer came over to me, smiling, saying hello as if nothing had happened. I should’ve let it go, played it off, too. Instead, I killed her with my biting tongue.”
Perez is now married to artist Eric Haze. In the recent past, she has worked in television on The Cleveland Show and Nurse Jackie. In addition to celebrating the release of the memoir, Perez is continuing to work in film and television.
