Ryan Phillippe moves to ABC with new drama series

Actor Ryan Phillippe is returning to television with a new drama series to air on ABC.

According to The Wrap, Phillippe will play the lead role in a new ABC series called Secrets & Lies.

Phillippe will play a family man who is suspected of murder after discovering the body of a young boy. He must try and solve the crime in order to clear his name and protect his family.

The show is based on an upcoming Australian series. ABC's version of Secret & Lies will be a 10-episode series.

Charles McDougall is set to direct the pilot episode with Barbie Kligman serving as writer and executive producer.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Phillippe is also set to appear on TBS's Men at Work. Phillippe will guest star as himself, and the episode will air Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 10 p.m. Emmanuelle Chriqui will also guest star.

Phillippe had recurring roles on ABC's One Life to Live from 1992-1993, and he also joined the cast of FX's Damages for it's fifth and final season in 2012.
