Shia LaBeouf proves he is out for fame not art

By Chelsea Lewis ,

Shia LaBeouf used to be a normal actor coming up in the movie industry. From his role in Holes to taking over a franchise with Transformers, LaBeouf was looked at as an actor to watch, but his career and his passion for the craft seem to be disappearing.

By now everyone has heard that Shia LaBeouf showed up to the opening of his latest film, Nymphomaniac Volume I, wearing a bag over his head that read, “I’m Not Famous Anymore.” He also decided to make his way into art by staging his own collaborative art installation titled "#IAMSORRY."

This wardrobe choice made headlines around the world and proved one very important thing; LaBeouf is indeed out for fame and not for the art of filmmaking. He has lost the passion for bringing a character to life and is just making a sideshow of his own life. If LaBeouf wanted to not make a scene during the film’s premiere, he could have quietly arrived to the film’s opening, skipped the red carpet and sat in the theater, but instead he made a huge statement on the red carpet in front of many cameras.

Instead of going about the premiere that way, LaBeouf made a large statement and a huge media storm surrounding his unique wardrobe choice. Following this, he had another plan for staging his “#IAMSORRY.”

At first, when LaBeouf arrived on the red carpet, it seemed that he might need help or has really gone into a darker place in his life, but now it seems that everything he is doing is calculated and is driving his fame train forward. This is very similar to that of pop star Miley Cyrus, who has a plan behind every move she makes in the tabloids.

LaBeouf was loved by fans when he was in Transformers and has shown true talent when it comes to acting. It might be time for LaBeouf to take a note from Kanye West and step away from the spotlight before returning better than ever. If all else fails, it is likely that Michael Bay would at least cast LaBeouf again maybe in another robot franchise.

He needs to remember why he became famous in the first place. It was because of his talent and his passion for art. He needs to leave behind these outrageous actions and get back to what made him famous in the first place.
