The son-in-law of the couple who died after receiving a parcel bomb, has been arrested and charged with the crime.
According to CNN, investigators arrested Richard Parker and charged him with two counts of felony first-degree murder and two counts of felony premeditated murder in connection with the mail bomb.
"Right now we feel like we have the person responsible for committing this crime in custody," said Mark Gwyn, director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
On Monday, the couple received a package in the mailbox that killed the 74-year-old Jon Setzer when it detonated. His 72-year-old wife, Marion, died on Wednesday evening from injuries she sustained in the blast.
The Tennessean noted that earlier this week investigators said they did not have a motive or suspect in the case.
However, that all changed on Thursday when they found a note with some handwriting among the debris at the couple’s rural Lebanon home. That evidence was followed up by the shocking news that the man accused of the crime is their own son-in-law.
