Top 10 Olympic athletes to pose for ESPN's The Body Issue

Olympians bare all

ESPN The Magazine began producing The Body Issue in October 2009. Since its first release it has been a huge success.

The Body Issue has been able to gather athletes from every sport imaginable and get them to strip down to their bare skin. The result has been phenomenal. The photos reveal the sculpture of each unique athlete, showing the precision of the human body in its most raw form. ESPN The Magazine has found professional photographers that are skilled at accenting the right parts of the physique, while leaving the private details to the imagination. This keeps the images sexy, yet tasteful.

Since the 2014 Winter Olympics are just around the corner, we would like to showcase some of the strongest and most beautiful human bodies on this planet. Our top ten includes Olympians, both male and female, from the Winter, Summer, and Paralympic Games, and all from varying sports.

The anatomy of the human body is something to marvel at. We get to gawk at the “bodies we want,” as ESPN The Magazine calls some of the photos in each issue. These photos are a combination of the hard work our Olympic athletes have put into their bodies and the artistic skill of the photographer. It is majestic and truly captivating – see for yourselves.
