This week’s column talks about a cornucopia of movies in a variety of genres. Non-Stop has Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore fighting to keep a plane in the air against an anonymous techno terrorist, Joe has Nicolas Cage playing an ex-con, who strikes up an unlikely friendship with a 15-year-old boy and Locke has Tom Hardy making imaginary phone calls as his life and mind unravels.
All three movies have their own brand of action, brought about to moviegoers in different forms. Some have more action than others, some more poignancy than others but all are sure to keep audiences riveted to their plots.
The era of older action heroes has arrived as well as other more familiar action heroes playing softer roles and still other stars trying their talents in different movie genres. Yet, with all three of these movies starring big name celebs, they are almost guaranteed to be fully packed on their premiere dates in theaters.
