TV Ratings: 'How I Met Your Mother' slips but leads night, 'Castle' up

By Kyle Johnson,

How I Met Your Mother won Monday night in the ratings, but slipped from the season high the show rose to for its 200th episode last week, while Castle was up for ABC.

There was a tie in the advertiser important 18-49 demographic between CBS and ABC at a 2.4 rating, but ABC snagged victory off the back of more viewers with 8.8 million, reports HitFix. The Bachelor stayed consistent from previous weeks with a 2.6 in the demo between the show's two hours. Castle improved on the night to a 2.1 rating.

CBS came second with the 2.4 rating and by a hair lower 8.77 million viewers. How I Met Your Mother unsurprisingly slipped from its season high rating down to a still Monday night best 3.3 in the demo. 2 Broke Girls and Mike & Molly were consistent from last week's episodes at a 3.0 rating and 2.6, respectively, while Mom dipped to a 2.3 demo rating. Intelligence's numbers remain weak, but managed to retain its audience from last week with a 1.5 rating.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox took third with 6.1 million viewers and a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic. Almost Human dropped to a 1.8 in the demo, and The Following suffered a slightly smaller dip to a 1.9 rating.

NBC had a 1.1 rating in the demo and 3.8 million viewers, with Hollywood Game Night holding steady with a 1.5, while Sports Illustrated Swimsuit: 50 Years of Beautiful crashed and burned with a 0.9 rating.

The CW stayed even for the night with a 0.4 in the demo and 1 million viewers. Hart of Dixie pulled in an even 0.4 and Beauty and the Beast managed a 0.3 rating.
