The men's 15-kilometer biathlon race and the men's snowboardcross have been postponed. Both events will be pushed back until Tuesday thanks to the dense fog that blanketed the courses.
Bloomberg News notes that this is the third time the biathlon race has been rescheduled.
According to the Associated Press, the men's biathlon was initially delayed by one hour and then postponed Sunday because of fog. It was then reset for Monday, but the fog still had not lifted so organizers delayed the start again before calling it off.
The AP also reports that the decision to postpone the snowboardcross event will now leave the race to operate under a new format. There will be not be a qualifying round, but instead each racer will be bracketed based on their world ranking.
The weather has not cooperated in Sochi since the Olympic Games started. Most days skiers are racing down snowy mountains in spring like conditions or doing their runs in short sleeves. Now, fog has become a glitch and delayed events that are already packed into a tight Winter Games schedule.
