The White House went into lockdown on Friday after a man attempted to hop the fence.
According to Reuters, the man had two bags with him as he was trying to climb the fence. The bags are currently being examined by the Secret Service.
A U.S. Secret Service spokesman announced that the man was not able to get over the fence. Associated Press reports that the Secret Service were able to successfully snag the man before he could get to the other side with his two bags and whatever is inside.
No motive has been announced yet for why the man's actions. During the lockdown, the White House press corp. members on site were not allowed to leave until the security lockdown was lifted.
President Barack Obama was not at the White House at the time because he is currently in Michigan where he signed the farm bill. He signed the bill in Michigan as a reward for Senator Debbie Stagenow, who spent a lot of time on the piece of legislation.
