The ACMs are Coming, The ACMs are Coming…

By Jessica Zysberg,

The Academy of Country Music Awards are in town and this year there will be more studded cowboy boots and country stars than in the past years.

On April 6, the award show will take place in Viva Las Vegas.

As earlier reported by USA Today, on April 3, there will be a free concert by Hunter Hayes at The Linq accompanied by newcomers Cole Swindell, Sasha McVeigh and David Nail.

Two days later, former member of Hootie and the Blowfish singer Darius Rucker will be hosting the third annual ACM Lifting Lives Celebrity Golf Classic. The artists that are scheduled to tee off at TPC Las Vegas are Frankie Ballard who sings “Helluva Life,” former American Idol contestant Scotty MCreery and Jake Owen who has the new single “Beachin.”

In addition, the voting for ACM Entertainer and New Artist Award is now open to the public. According to Billboard, all fans are able to go online to the ACM’s website and cast their vote for these two categories.

The nominees for entertainer of the year are Luke Bryan, Miranda Lambert, Blake Shelton, George Strait and Taylor Swift. While in the category for new artist are Brett Eldredge, Justin Moore and Kip Moore. The voting polls for these awards close at 8p.m. ET on April 6, which is the day that the awards will be held.

Be sure to tune into the awards to watch performers such as Bryan, Shelton, Lambert and Eric Church as they take the stage for spectacular performances.
