AMC network has made some moves recently, added new programming and is now making promotions within the network. Ben Davis has been promoted to senior VP of scripted programming.
Davis will now oversee and help manage current productions and the network's scripted programming development slate. Davis will be working with Susie Fitzgerald, AMC's senior VP of scripted development and current programming, Variety reported.
In a statement released by AMC, the network explained that Davis had worked on Breaking Bad, Mad Men and Rubicon. He was also a part of the production team that worked on Broken Trail which won Emmy's for the network.
Fitzgerald went on to add that the network was thrilled with Davis' promotion.
“Ben is a talented executive who joined AMC just as the network was beginning its original programming transformation, and he has played a significant role in our success," Fitzgerald said. "We are pleased to recognize the contributions he has made across many iconic AMC series, and his continuing work in helping to develop the next generation of AMC programming, with this well-deserved promotion."
The current leadership at AMC has been helping to guide the network towards many successful programs including The Walking Dead and the critically acclaimed Breaking Bad. For two weeks in a row, The Walking Dead beat out the Winter Olympic Games when it came to ratings in the key demos.
