Four years after the sudden death of Brittany Murphy, her last film Something Wicked will be released.
People reports the 32-year-old actress passed away in December 2009 due to pneumonia, anemia and multiple drug intoxication.
Something Wicked is a dark thriller that is set to be released on April 4, 2014 in Eugene, Oregon.
Something Wicked is a “psychological thriller” about a couple going on a honeymoon against their parents' wishes. Producer Joe Colleran gave insight on the film by saying, “The parents are tragically taken in an auto accident, gruesome secrets from the couple's past come back to haunt them and ensure this couple does not live happily ever after.”
Murphy plays the role of the psychiatrist. Colleran said, “[Murphy] who observes the couple's deteriorating relationship and sets out to determine what sinister forces are driving the madness."
E! Online reports the film is being released in Oregon in honor of it being filmed there in 2009. The film also features One Tree Hill's Shantel VanSanten and Pretty Little Liars star Julian Morris.
Producers hope to have the film released nationwide. Something Wicked will start in Eugene, the branch out to Portland and Seattle.
About Murphy’s performance in the film Colleran said, "I would describe Brittany's performance as the most chilling performance of her career."
