Singers Mariah Carey, Fergie and actress Brenda Song are celebrating their birthdays today, March 27.
Mariah Carey, 44
Singer, songwriter, record producer and actress Mariah Carey turns 44 today. Carey released her self-titled debut album in 1990. The album quickly became a success, going multi-platinum, and containing four No. 1 singles, "Vision of Love," "Love Takes Time," "Someday" and "I Don't Wanna Cry." Her albums that followed, Emotions (1991), Music Box (1993) and Merry Christmas (1994), all did very well.
Carey's album Daydream featured the hit single "One Sweet Day" which featured Boyz II Men, and stayed at No. 1 on the Billboard 100 for 16 consecutive weeks, making it the longest running number-one song in U.S. history. She transitioned to hip-hop music with her album Butterfly (1997). Carey made her film debut in 2001's Glitter. The film did poorly, and lead to a decline in her music career.
Carey made a comeback in 2005 with her album, The Emancipation of Mimi. The single, "We Belong Together," was named Song of the Decade by Billboard. She received the Breakthrough Performance Role at the Palm Springs International Film Festival for her role in Precious (2009).
Throughout her career, Carey has sold over 200 million records worldwide, making her the best selling female artist in the U.S. She has won five Grammy Awards, 17 World Music Awards, 11 American Music Awards and 31 Billboard Music Awards.
Carey is working on a new album. She married Nick Cannon in 2008, and they have twins.

Fergie left Wild Orchid due to the band's image, as well as her personal drug problems.
