U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron has inadvertently inspired a new Internet meme while he tried to show how serious he is about the situation in Crimea. Cameron’s “very serious” phone call face has even inspired celebrities to mock him.
On Wednesday, Cameron tweeted that he has been speaking with U.S. President Barack Obama on the phone about what is going on between Ukraine, Crimea and Russia. While Cameron was trying to tell the world that he and Obama are on the same page, apparently the internet couldn't care less. The photo attached to the tweet shows Cameron looking super serious while using a corded phone.

As the U.K. Standard points out, the picture has been mocked by celebrities and other Twitter users, Many have found silly objects to replace the phone with. Sir Patrick Stewart used a pack of Wet Ones, while comedian Rob Delaney went with toothpaste.

Of course, Domino’s UK had to crash the party by turning it into a marketing ploy.

For the record, it appears to be commonplace for politicians to release photos of themselves on the phone, looking very serious. Here's Obama on the phone with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
