Demi Lovato didn’t think much of Lady Gaga’s art on stage. Lovato took to Twitter to voice her disgust with Gaga’s puking incident at the SXSW concert, saying it glorified eating disorders.
Lovato tweeted, “Sad … As if we didn’t have enough people glamorizing eating disorders already. Bottom line, it’s not ‘cool’ of ‘artsy’ at all,” adding later, “Would you let someone bring a needle and shoot up on you? Addiction is addiction.”
Immediately however due to her attack on Gaga, Lovato received much hate from Gaga’s famous frenzy of fans nicknamed "little monsters."
Lovato later defended herself saying, “But if someone has to come forward and say it…I'll take the heat for it. Putting the word ART in it isn't a free card to do whatever you want without consequences."
In the midst of Lovato’s opinions, Gaga acknowledged that her act could have been going a little too far in a sit down chat where she voiced that she was worried her team would not support her latest extreme on stage reported E! News.
Lovato has previously acknowledged her own struggle with bulimia and criticized her former network, Disney for airing episodes of Shake It Up where the characters joked about eating disorders.
