Divergent author Veronica Roth recently snuck into a press screening of the movie without anyone having a clue who she was.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Roth, 25, snuck into a screening in Los Angeles for the press in early March. Hiding, she went in the theater with a hood on and made her way to a seat just as the lights were being turned down.
"The only thing I didn't want was for people to watch me watching the movie instead of watching the movie," Roth told THR. She even left as the final credits starting rolling.
Roth also stated that she looks at her celebrity as “fame tourism” where at book signings or screenings people may know her but two blocks away, they wouldn’t necessarily know who she was.
Divergent did very well at the box office earning $56 million in the first weekend. That lead Lionsgate and Summit to greelight the film version of Roth's sequel Insurgent. Roth also wrote Allegiant, the third book in the series.
