Peter Berg, who is known for directing Lone Survivor and Battleship was previously attached to the project to direct, Belfastte Telegraph reported.
Basil Iwanyk of Thunder Road Pictures will be producing the film along with Jean-Julien Baronnet of Ubisoft Motion Picture Group. If Liman decides to direct he would also be producing with David Bartis, who he has worked with in the past.
Hardy will be reportedly starring as Sam Fisher, a spy for a secret government agency. In the best-selling video game of the same name, Fisher is the main character through out the game storyline.
