Dwight Yoakam to star on 'Under The Dome' season two

By Daniel S Levine,

Even though everyone who lives in Chester’s Mill was trapped Under The Dome in the first season of CBS’ hit summer show, it turns out that audiences were not introduced to every citizen. Country singer Dwight Yoakam has been enlisted to play one of those citizens we haven’t met yet.

Yoakam will have a recurring role on the show as Lyle Chumley, who runs the town’s barber shop, notes Entertainment Weekly. Lyle has a tough relationship with Dean Norris’ Big Jim, just like everyone else. He had a romantic relationship with Jim’s deceased wife and also has a strange connection to the dome.

Although the Grammy winner is best known for his million-selling albums, he does have a long acting career, appearing in over 35 films like Panic Room and Sling Blade. He recently appeared on Wilfred.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that other newcomers to Chester’s Mill include Eddie Cahill (CSI: NY), Karla Crome (Misfits) and Grace Victoria Cox.

CBS announced that Under The Dome’s second season will start on Monday, June 30. It is based on Stephen King’s novel and King wrote the season two premiere.

CBS will also be airing Extant with Halle Berry this summer, starting on July 9.
