Frank Ocean has responded to Chipotle regarding their recent lawsuit that they filed against the musician on Friday.
Chipotle claimed that Ocean was paid an advance of $212,500 in July 2013 but never followed through on the contract. It included Ocean writing a song for the fast food chain for an upcoming marketing campaign.
Ocean has now responded to the restaurant via a post on his Tumblr account. The "Thinkin Bout You" singer posted a picture of a check that was address to Chipotle with the amount of the advance. In the memo line, Ocean wrote 'F--k Off.'
The Hollywood Reporter added that a representative from Chipotle said they had seen the picture of the check but had not received the check yet.
Chipotle's lawsuit included a letter to the legal team that represents Ocean back in August of last year.
"When Frank was asked to participate in this project, Chipotle's representatives told him that the thrust of the campaign was to promote responsible farming. There was no Chipotle reference or logo in the initial presentation, and Chipotle told Frank that was an intentional element of the campaign," the letter reads. "Frank was also promised that he'd have the right to approve the master and all advertising."
In the end, Chipotle replaced Ocean with Fiona Apple for the marketing campaign.
