By Chelsea Lewis ,

FX Network has reached a deal with BSkyB. The two will come together to develop a new comedy for audiences that will be aired internationally. The agreement was for a two-year time span.

FX and BSkyB will co-fund and co-develop a variety of new half-hour scripted comedy shows. If the shows are picked up they will air on the FX Networks in the United States. In the U.K. and Ireland the shows would air on Sky1 HD or Sky Atlantic HD, Variety reported.

BSkyB detailed the agreement. "The co-development deal builds on Sky and FX Networks’ expertise in creating distinctive, award-winning comedy and will involve the very best on- and off-screen talent from both Britain and the U.S.," said the network, The Hollywood Reporter reports.

FX is known for their comedies that include Always Sunny in Philadelphia and Louie.

Eric Schrier, president of Original Programming for FX Networks and FX Prods., discussed this new partnership. "This partnership will open doors for us to discover new comedy talent and develop their stories in this unique foreign exchange program," he said.
