Corey Stoll, who appeared in the Netflix hit House of Cards, is reportedly in talks to join Marvel’s Ant-Man. The film already stars Michael Douglas and Paul Rudd.
The news was first reported by TheWrap and later by Variety. If Stoll signs on, he would join Douglas and Rudd, the only confirmed members of the cast. It’s also been rumored that Michael Pena, Patrick Wilson and Evangeline Lilly are also in talks for roles.
Marvel has not commented on the casting, but if it happens, it will be another major role for Stoll. He played Peter Russo on the first season of House of Cards and also had a great supporting part as Ernest Hemingway in Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris. He will also be starring in Guillermo Del Toro’s FX series The Strain and was a detective on the short-lived LAw & Order: LA.
Ant-Man was written by director Edgar Wright (The World’s End) and Joe Cornish. Douglas will star as Hank Pym, the creator of the original technology that allows Ant-Man to shrink.
The film is set for release on July 31, 2015.
