Courtney Cash, a great niece of the late country legend Johnny Cash, was stabbed to death in Putnam County, Tenn.

Cash and her boyfriend, William Austin Johnson, met with a friend Wednesday and the meeting turned violent. She was stabbed to death and her boyfriend was hospitalized, Sheriff David Andrews told The Tennessean.

According to Nashville Fox affiliate WZTV, Andrews told the media that the couple had a 2-year-old child together.

Police got a 911 call at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday morning. The cell phone ping location first lead them to the wrong house. A second call lead them to the right house. They then obtained a search warrant to continue the investigation.

They found Cash's body in a cedar box in the home. A suspect, Wayne Gary Masciarella, was arrested and will be in court on April 21.

Cash’s grandfather is Tommy Cash, Johnny Cash’s brother. A rep for Tommy Cash issued a statement that read, “We ask for your prayers for the Cash family at this time. Courtney and her boyfriend are beloved members of my family and like you we have a lot of questions and emotions that we are beginning to sort through today.” The family also asked that their privacy be respected.
