Rapper Kanye West is having some legal issues as he is facing charges for an altercation he had last year with a photographer at the Los Angeles International Airport.
The Associated Press reports that West pleaded no contest to the misdemeanor battery charge, which allows him to avoid admitting any guilt. West's attorney entered the special plea in place of the rapper as he was not required to attend.
West was sentenced to two years of probation, 250 hours of community service and 24 anger management therapy sessions.
TMZ reports that due to the plea of no contest West’s charge for attempt of grand theft was thrown out.
If West completes his probation without any violation, the conviction will most likely be erased from his record. In addition to probation, he must pay for the photographer's equipment and any medical bills.
The photographer that was caught in the mix up believes that West should have received harsher punishment. Due to the physical and emotional trauma he endured he believes West should be behind bars.
