Keith Richards is putting down the guitar and lowering the amp to release a children’s book with the creative inspiration of his daughter, Theodora Richards.
The children’s book called Gus & Me: The Story of My Granddad and My First Guitar, is all about Richards and his introduction to the music world and how his grandfather was the first one to place a guitar is his hands.
The book allows readers to completely understand the exact moment Keith Richards slid his fingers up and down the neck of a guitar.
Richards also has a memoir titled Life, where he further illustrates the important role his grandfather, Theodore Augustus Dupree, had in his life, as reported by CBS News.
The best-seller informs readers of his lifelong journey of being a quiet only child, to eventually becoming part of one of the biggest rock bands of all time, The Rolling Stones, messing around with drugs and all of the lifestyle changes that came along with fame and fortune.
"I have just become a grandfather for the fifth time, so I know what I'm talking about," Richards said, according to Reuters. "The bond, the special bond, between kids and grandparents is unique and should be treasured. This is a story of one of those magical moments."
The book was written by Barnaby Harris and Bill Shapiro and features photographs of the Richards family and pen-and-ink collages created by Theodora, who just so happens to be named after her grandfather.
On September 9, the e-book will be released as well as the hardcover edition, featuring an audio CD with bonus content.
